Supporting your CPD compliance

Four Steps to Switch to AMA CPD Home

In the dynamic world of healthcare, one thing remains constant – the need for continuous professional learning and growth. It is now mandatory to track your learning under the Medical Board of Australia’s (MBA) new Registration Standard: Continuing professional development (the Standard), with 50 hours of learning required each year.

If you’re a specialist considering the move from your college’s CPD platform to the Australian Medical Association (AMA)’s CPD Home, we have 4 tips for you.

1. Subscribe to AMA CPD Home

Embarking on this transition starts with a simple, yet significant, step – joining and subscribing to AMA CPD Home.

Your AMA CPD Home includes a CPD Tracker and an extensive CPD Catalogue. You can choose to do the CPD paperwork yourself or you can let us do it.

2. Download your college CPD activity statement

It is important to download a record of your CPD activity from your CPD provider or specialist college from the current year.

This statement is critical to keeping track of the CPD activities you’ve already completed, including the hours you’ve invested, the domains, CAPE aspects, evaluations, and any specialist high-level requirements (HLRs).

However, it’s important to emphasise that this document must be the official PDF statement from your specialist college or other CPD provider. This ensures the accuracy and credibility of your transition process.

3. Effortless upload process

You can upload your CPD activity statement directly to the CPD platform, or, if you have purchased our premium plan, you can send this document to us directly and your concierge will upload and categorise this directly.

Uploading your CPD activity statement onto our CPD Home platform is easy and has been streamlined through a well-structured template.

Our platform is tailored to guide you step by step, ensuring your transition is a seamless experience. This template captures the crucial details accurately, minimising any potential hiccups along the way.

With this step, your CPD history is retained and is counted with any future CPD activities you may complete in the future.

4. Safeguarding supporting evidence

As you complete your diverse CPD activities, it’s paramount to keep track of the supporting evidence associated with each learning experience.

While this evidence doesn’t need to be uploaded onto the platform, they play a pivotal role in safeguarding your personal records. They can be an invaluable resource, particularly in scenarios where you might face an audit by the MBA or the AMA’s CPD Home. Having your evidence readily accessible ensures you can confidently substantiate your learning journey.

Ready to make the switch?

By embracing the above steps, you’ll find that transitioning to AMA’s CPD Home will be easy.
