Supporting your CPD compliance

FAQs for renewals and end of year shutdown (2025)

Subscription & Payments

1. When will my subscription renew?
You will receive an email notification when AMA CPD Home subscription renewals are opening. A follow-up SMS will be sent as a reminder. Complete the renewal form to subscribe for the next year. Auto-renewals commence 3 December, so ensure your personal details and payment information available from your CPD Tracker Profile tab are up to date if you did not complete our Profile survey before 1 December.
2. How will I be charged for renewal?
Renewal fees will be automatically charged to your saved payment method. You can update your card details through a secure portal with the Commonwealth Bank. This can be accessed under Profile on your CPD Tracker Dashboard. We do not take card details over the phone or by email. You will receive an email and SMS reminder before the renewal date.
3. I want to change my subscription type but have already been charged.
Unless otherwise purchased or requested, all renewals are automatically processed under the Home Subscriber plan for $220. As we only offer two subscription plans, upgrading gives you flexibility if you wish to switch plans. You can upgrade your subscription to Home Subscriber with Concierge at any time by selecting ‘Upgrade’ on your CPD Tracker Dashboard. By upgrading you will pay an additional fee of $660, paying in total $880 for your CPD subscription. If you purchased a ‘2 for 1’ offer in 2025, your subscription extends into 2026, and payment will be required in Dec 2026.
4. What happens if my payment fails?
If payment fails, we will notify you and retry the payment every Wednesday for 3 weeks. If your payment still fails, your CPD Tracker will move to limited access, and your CPD compliance may be at risk for the new CPD year.
5. Will my renewal price change?
You will be notified in advance via email if there is a price change. For 2026, there is no price change. To learn more about our two subscription options, please visit Benefits and Fees.
6. I’m a CPD Home Subscriber. How do I cancel my subscription?
To discontinue your AMA CPD Home subscription from 1 January,  email enquiries@cpdhome.org.au at least three business days before 1 December. You will retain access to CPD Home services for the remainder of your current subscription year, and your CPD compliance will be reported to Ahpra for the CPD year that you subscribed. You can upload your completed activities from 2025 until 31 March 2026. Your subscription will move to our Lite plan with limited access to the CPD Tracker, and access only to the CPD Catalogue.
7. Will I lose my data or progress if I don’t renew?
You will retain full access to your 2025 CPD Tracker until March 31, 2026. However, after this date, you will no longer be able to access platform features, as your account will be deactivated. Your subscription will move to our Lite plan with limited access to the CPD Tracker but full access to the CPD Catalogue.
8. Can I get a refund after renewal?
Please review our Cancellations and Refunds Policy Refunds are only available within the 14-day cooling-off period. Requests outside this period are not eligible.
9. How do I update my payment information before renewal?
Log in to cpdhome.org.au. Go to Profile Update Payment to update your credit card or payment details.
10. Why am I being charged again if I already paid mid-year for 2025?
The CPD cycle runs from 1 January to 31 December each year. Payment during the year covers CPD compliance reporting for that calendar year only unless a promotional offer is in place. CPD Home 2-for-1 promotional offers are an exception, covering only the specific years stated in the offer. To maintain active subscription and Ahpra compliance, payment is required for each CPD year that you require a CPD home.
11. I purchased a 2-for-1 offer — why did I receive a renewal email?
The renewal email includes a survey to confirm any personal or professional updates. As part of recent system updates, your subscription plan name has changed from “2-for-1” to “Home Subscriber.”  If your invoice shows you’ve already paid under the 2-for-1 offer, you will not be charged again.
12. I’m starting a specialist training program next year — what should I do?
If accepted into a specialty training program for 2026, complete the Update Profile Survey by 1 December and select ‘Downgrade’. This prevents you from being charged for 2026, but you will still maintain access to your CPD records from when you were subscribed. If you have applied for a specialty training program place but are not yet accepted, you must maintain a CPD home subscription for 2026 to remain compliant.
13. How can I download a copy of my invoice?
Sign into your account → Profile → Payment History → Download Invoice. View our ‘Quick Start Guide: Downloading your AMA CPD Home Tax Invoices’ available from your CPD Tracker to learn more.
14. I was PGY2 in 2024 and PGY3 in 2025, but I was non-practicing January to December and was not aware if I needed to have a CPD home. If I subscribe in December for 2025, can I also apply for an exemption?
As per our Exemptions Policy, it may take up to six weeks to process an application. Ensure you are a subscriber with AMA CPD Home in 2025 then submit your Exemption Application immediately.

CPD Uploads & Activities

15. I haven’t finished uploading all my CPD activities for 2025 — what should I do?
All subscribers have a grace period from 1 January – 31 March 2026 to upload outstanding CPD records and supporting evidence completed in 2025. If you experience access issues, please email enquiries@cpdhome.org.au for assistance. If you subscribed to the Home Subscriber with Concierge plan in 2025, we can help! Simply, email your records to enquiries@cpdhome.org.au and we will do the paperwork for you.
16. Can I upload activities I completed in 2024 to my 2025 CPD record?
CPD records must reflect activities completed within the specified CPD year. Uploading CPD activities and supporting evidence completed outside the CPD year cycle are not compliant. Your CPD records will be reviewed if randomly selected for audit by CPD Home or the Medical Board of Australia (MBA).
17. I’ve completed a CPD activity, but it still shows as incomplete — why?
If a completed CPD activity available from the Catalogue remains “Enrolled” after four weeks, contact the Certified Learning Provider (CLP) for assistance. Please note, some CLPs take up to four weeks to upload your completion records to your CPD Tracker.
18. I’ve completed all my CPD activities — how do I assign them to domains?
Refer to the 2025 CPD Program Guide, which includes examples to help align activities with the two CPD domains.
19. I’ve completed all components — where is my Statement of Completion?
Your Statement of Completion will appear on your Dashboard once all CPD requirements are met.
20. My CPD reflection isn’t showing as complete — what should I do?
Re-save your CPD plan reflection. If it still does not update, contact us to resolve the issue by emailing enquiries@cpdhome.org.au.

Dashboard & CAPE

21. I need help navigating my Dashboard — where can I find guidance?
View the Dashboard tour to explore features and manage your CPD activities.
22. I’m not sure how to complete my CAPE — what steps should I follow?
CAPE represents the four key aspects of Good Medical Practice (MBA, 2020):
  • Culturally Safe Practice
  • Addressing Health Inequities
  • Professionalism
  • Ethical Practice

Completing CPD activities addressing each CAPE aspect is mandatory each year. You can use our CPD catalogue and apply the CAPE filters to easily search for and select activities aligned with each aspect. To learn more about CAPE, read our article: Good Medical Practice: Understanding the CAPE aspects.
