Introduction to Aesthetic Medicine

This course is designed to educate healthcare professionals on the core principles of aesthetic medicine. The course is divided into three units:

Unit 1: Introduction to Aesthetic Medicine
This unit explores the history of aesthetic medicine and its relevance in primary care. It covers the various treatment options available, the concept of intrinsic and extrinsic ageing, and the medical approach to aesthetic treatments. Participants will learn to assess typical aesthetic presentations and perform medical consultations tailored to aesthetic patients​.

Unit 2: The Ageing Face
Focusing on the physiological aspects of ageing, this unit teaches practitioners how to medically assess and treat ageing signs in the face. The unit explores different methods to address both intrinsic and extrinsic ageing, enabling practitioners to offer safe, holistic care to patients seeking aesthetic treatments​.

Unit 3: The Aesthetic Consultation
This unit focuses on conducting thorough aesthetic consultations. It covers patient assessment, medical history, and the creation of personalised treatment plans. Participants will learn to communicate treatment options clearly, assess potential risks, and manage patient expectations, ensuring safe and effective outcomes​.

Through a combination of theory, practical demonstrations, and case studies, this course offers comprehensive education for those wishing to incorporate aesthetic medicine into their practice.
