This course will not only help you avoid finding yourself in the gaze of the regulator - but if that does happen, we will also give you practical tips and guides on how best to navigate that situation.
You will be able to identify and describe the roles of key regulatory bodies in Australia, such as AHPRA and the various National Boards, when it comes to the regulation of your social media use as a health practitioner
You will have a good working knowledge of the relevant codes, laws and guidelines, and will be able to apply those to your use of social media
You will understand the scope of your professional obligations relating to social media use, and will be able to identify when you may be engaging in conduct that could be in breach of those obligations
You will understand how the relevant regulators might respond to breaches of your professional obligations in your use of social media
You will be able to identify at least three proactive steps you can take to ensure your use of social media meets the expectations of the regulators
You will be able to develop a social media policy that assists you to meet your obligations as a health practitioner on social media
You will know how to effectively deal with a complaint related to your social media use, including the initial steps to take.
This course is entirely self-paced and available online at any time. It can be completed in multiple sessions over several months if that is convenient. Your progress will be saved and you’ll continue where you left off when you log back in. The learning materials also remain available for you to revisit for 12 months after purchase, even if you’ve completed the course on the first day.
